Rice is the traditional south Indian dish. In Typical Tamil feast (Virundhu), Rice is the main dish which is served along with other dishes. Rice is a low-fat food and has a low level of sodium and rich in carbohydrates. Rice is easy to digest and it is a healing food according to Chinese medicine. Let's see how to cook rice in a pressure cooker.<br />

Ingredients<br />
Rice - 1 cup<br />
Water - 2 cups<br />
Salt - as needed<br />

Step 1 - Take a pressure cooker & Add a cup of rice to it<br />
Step 2 - Pour water into the rice,<br />
Wash the rice twice and drain it (washing the rice takes out all the pesticides used in cultivation)<br />
Step 3 - Add two cups of water for a cup of rice (i.e. 2: 1 ratio) and Add Salt as need<br />
Step 4 - Close the pressure cooker lid, ignite it and allow to cook.(Please ignite it under a medium flame to avoid burning)<br />
Step 5 - After fuming arrives, put cooker weight over it, Allow 2 whistle to come, then switch off your gas stove.<br />
Step 6 - Allow the fumes to settle down, after that open the pressure cooker lid..<br />
Open the cooker and now the Cooked Rice is ready<br />
